Presenting a stunning Australian Studio art glass vase masterfully hand crafted and signed by the acclaimed glass artist Richard Morrell. This exquisite large-sized hot glass vase has a wonderfully sleek contemporary form which has been spectacularly coloured with a radiant layer of vibrant opaque tangerine orange (near red) encased within. This striking piece stylishly tapers in width culminating in a wide oval shaped top rim. This stunning example of contemporary Australian design would make a fabulous artistic feature adding a vibrant pop of colour to a contemporary styled space. This impressive art glass vase stands approx 355mms tall, measures 85mms in diameter at the base and 175mms in width x 95mms in depth at the top rim. This is a substantial piece weighing just over 1.4kgs unpackaged. The sheer size alone is testament to the skill and sheer strength of the talented glass artist. This piece is presented in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks or repairs. There are a few elongated encapsulated air bubbles within the glass, a standard part of the hand crafting process but mentioned for complete accuracy. This vase has been very well cared for and presents spectacularly. This stunning art glass vase is beautifully signed to the base with the artists’ engraved signature “Morrell” and also retains its original “glass by Morrell” label. Richard Morrell, originally from London, has been living and working in Australia since 1979. He studied his Masters in Glass in Melbourne, and now works from his studio in Castlemaine, Victoria. Richard is a highly respected glass artist on an International level, having exhibited throughout Australia, and in the US, Japan and Europe.
