Nice French Art Nouveau Bronze DAUM NANCY Art Glass Desk Table Lamp 15 T Signed

Welcome To The Antique Cabinet. For your consideration is a wonderful French Art Nouveau Bronze. Desk or Table Lamp. This is a beautiful, high-quality lamp with somewhat of a gothic edge. The bronze base is heavy weighing over 6 lbs. It has a nicely detailed wishbone type body and finished with a rich brown patina. The mottled shade has very muted colors which gives it a nice tranquil glow. The shade is signed Daum Nancy with the Cross of Lorriane. The base measure approx. 15 tall by 6¾ at widest, shade approx. 5¾ tall by 3½ at widest with a 2. The lamp is in overall excellent condition. The shade has a tiny, pin size nick possibly in the making.. ? On the bottom rim and the top fitter rim has a chip, which is not seen when mounted. The lamp does work and has had a new cloth cord installed at some point. As with all electrical items, we highly recommend that the electrical components be inspected by a qualified person before use. FRENCH ART DECO Le Verre Francais Myrtilles Vase Blue Glass Cameo Signed Charder

Exceptional ART DECO blue cameo glass vase designed by Charder for Le Verre Francais. The vase in the Myrtilles cutting was produced in 1927 and 1928. A ground of mottled shades of blue glass is overlaid with deeper blue glass which is etched to reveal the pattern. Le Verre Francais in script to base and in superb condition for this magnificent piece. Is replicated on all sides of the vase. This is a very elegant vase that measures. 32,5 cm high by 20,5 cm wide. An absolute most for collectors! Charles and Ernest Schneider were a generation younger than Emile Gallé and the Daum brothers, whose glassworks were in the same area of France. The Schneider brothers worked for Daum from the early 1900s, Ernest as a salesman and commercial manager, and Charles as a freelance designer. The brothers left Daum around 1912, and re-commissioned an old glassworks under the name Schneider Frères et Wolff, a few miles north of Paris in 1913. Henri Wolff was an architect friend of Charles Schneider. Initially the Schneiders made high quality cameo vases and lamps, but in 1914, Charles, Ernest and most of their skilled glassworkers were led away to fight in the war. At that time the company was called the Societé Anonyme des Verreries Schneider. Charles Schneider was a brilliant and versatile designer, and the company produced a wide range of superb designs of vases, ewers, bowls, and lamps. They were very successful in marketing their glass to prestige retail stores both in Paris and overseas. They bought back their shares and re-named the company Verrerie Schneider. Virtually all their pieces are marked with the name Schneider or with one of their other trademarks, which include “Charder”, “Le Verre Français”, “Verçais”, a two handled ewer sketch, and a piece of blue, white and red glass cane.
