For your consideration we have beautiful, vintage Lundberg Studios gold aurene iridescent art glass vase. Measuring 5″ W x 4.75″H, it is signed, “Lundberg Studios, 1977″, and numbered, ” L572522″. Condition is excellent, no issues noted. Lundberg Studios was founded in 1970 by the late James Lundberg and is known for its clear-encased California Style paperweights as well as Art Nouveau and Tiffany style iridescent glass. James Lundberg began working in glass in the late 1960s, while a student at California State University, San Jose. He and brother Steven moved their small backyard glass studio, Nouveau Glass, from San Jose to Davenport in 1973, and renamed it Lundberg Studios. Steven Lundberg left the studio in 1997 to establish his own studio. The studios work are included in numerous major museum and private glass collections, including the De Young Museum, SF; Los Angeles County Art Museum; The Bergstrom-Mahler Museum, WI; The Museum of American Glass, NJ; Scone Palace, Scotland; The Corning Museum of Glass; The Art Institute of Chicago; and The Smithsonian Institution, Washington, DC. This is an early beautiful 9 Steven Correia vase – my pictures do not show the lovely pale teal green color very well. The pictures look more like blue than the pale teal green that it is. The lovely iridescent satin glass has a gold pulled feather design from the top down. Dimensions: 9″ tall x 3″ at the opening. The condition is excellent – no damage at all. This very early Lundberg artglass vase was made in 1973 in the style of the iridescent artglass from Tiffany Studios. The lovely pulled feather design is done in red, gold, and various blue hues on an iridescent blue background and the interior is dark red. This is a very early piece from this studio, and was made before Jim and Steve Lundberg signed their pieces “Lundberg Studios”. The vase has a height of 3.75″ and a width of 5″. The colors are vibrant and iridescent and the piece is in excellent condition. Signed “Lundberg 8/73″ on base.
