Robert Barber was born in the 1930’s, and over the course of a few decades became one of the US’s most prominent glass blowers and designers… Once working for Fenton Glass as designer and blower, Pilgrim Glass too, etc. He was a student at UW Madison, where he was introduced to the glass blowing class of Harvey Littleton. He clearly excelled and became passionate concerning glass blowing, eventually becoming and Artist in Residence at Fenton where he designed and blew his own range of designs. This example is hand signed and dated 1970, during the heart of the blossoming studio glass movement, this a unique piece, made before Robert worked for/with Fenton. This example has a smokey internal coloration, dark at the top and clearing toward the bottom. I is perfect, no chips or cracks or scratches. It has a lovely slightly arching ovoid shape that measures approx 9 1/2″ H x 6″ W, and it weighs a hefty 8+ pounds. CHECK OUT MY OTHER ITEMS. Check out my OTHER ITEMS.
