KOSTA BODA Swedish Art-Glass. By Artist – Designer, MONICA BACKSTR ö M. Moonlanding – Limited Series – Sculptures Vases & Bowls. Limited edition magnificent’Moonlanding’ series was issued in year 2000. This is a complete seven piece (full set) with original boxes. Each piece is in brand new condition and have been kept in their box since new. Boxes are in excellent condition with minor edge wear. Includes Kosta Boda information leaflets about the artist, Monica Backstrom. The bowls and vases are individual hand crafted sculptures, works of art and they are signed underneath (engraved) by the artist-designer Monica Backstrom. Moonlanding sculptures and glass artwork reflect a unique formation of glass inspired by molten formations of the early cosmos, earth, the moon, extra-terrestrial rocks and planets, volcanic rocks and primordial geological formations. Educated at Konstfack, the University College of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm, Monica Backström started working for Kosta Boda after graduation in 1965. In 2003 she became professor at Kalmar University of Design in Pukeberg, Sweden. She is represented at design museums all over the world, including the National Museum in Stockholm, the Röhsska museum in Gothenburg, the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, the Corning Museum of Glass, the CooperHewitt Museum and the American Craft Museum in New York. Monica explores that infinite spectrum with a body of work that has helped define Kosta Boda as a source of creativity in the art of glassmaking and secure her name as design innovator. Although we are 65 years on from when this vase was produced, many today still crave the same minimal clean Modernist design, quality materials and exceptional craftsmanship featured here. Antique Harrach Bud Vase Vibrant Citron Yellow Satin Glass Coralene Butterflies
This is an outstanding antique stick neck bud vase! This lovely citron yellow satin glass bud vase is lavishly decorated with coralene butterflies, leaves and flowers in various colors. The vase is in perfect condition and has a smooth base. It is numbered 16. I believe the vase was made by the Harrach Glass Factory circa 1890. The mouth of the vase is gold gilt with two rows of tiny white beads. The vase is 6 3/8 tall. If you love fine art glass or if you collect fine art glass bud vases, you won’t want to miss this one!
