DAN ENWRIGHT Studio Art Glass Vase PHILABAUM Studios Signed Reptilian Glass. Rare, vintage Dan Enwright vase from Tom Philabaum Studios in Tucson AZ. This gorgeous reptilian style vase was made and signed in 1997. Signed on the bottom “Dan Enwright 1997″. Weighs 2lbs 7oz. 3 diameter on top. 5 diameter at the widest part of the body. Enwright was an established stained glass artist before finding hot glass. Working alongside Tom Philabaum for over 20 years, Dan is not only a skilled glass blower, but our go-to guy for everything mechanical.

Tom Michael – Odyssey Art Glass Studios USA – Orange Free Form Vase. Being offered for your consideration is this Odyssey Art Glass Studios vase by Tom Michael. This contemporary free form vase features. Ground with vertical dark. Bands with green, white and yellow flower shape, some with a luster finish. The organic free form shape is eye pleasing. It is well suited for the abstract type of decorations. The underside of the vase is polished. There is a polished concave pontil. There is a white printed sticker placed inside the pontil that reads. It is also incised. Odyssey USA Tom Michael -3522. This vase is in excellent condition with no condition issues. It has only been. Displayed during our ownership. A handsome addition to any collection. Please take the time to carefully examine all the photographs for more details. If you have any questions or if you require additional photographs for inspection. The vase stands approximately 7.5″ tall and measures 4″ at the widest part of the body. The opening at the top is approximately 2.5 in diameter. All measurements are approximate, but close. We carefully examined this item. NO Chips, Cracks, Nicks, Stains, Repairs or Restorations were noted. We note faint wear on the underside of the base from previous display. Antique as well as modern hand blown glass can have bubbles. We mention them only if there is an open or broken bubble. Please take the time to carefully review all the photographs for more details.

This beautiful signed piece from Lundberg Studios in California was hand-blown in 1994. It has been in my collection since then. Color can be described as purple with a greenish gold accent. MICHAEL J. SCHUNKE 19 tall signed Nine Iron Studios pierced canework vase

If you’re unfamiliar with the work of Michael Schunke of West Grove, PA, you can read a short bio of him here. A video of him creating a massive abstract bowl at the Corning Museum of Glass last summer is here. Michael is one of the great contemporary American glass blowers working today. With a deep education in glass including a semester as teacher’s assistant to the maestro Lino Tagliapietra while at R. Michael is a master of Venetian techniques, and considered the finest Venetian goblet maker in America. He puts incredible focus on color selection and combinations, as well as developing clean, elegant and contemporary forms and new techniques built on 20+ years of experimentation. Rising 19 inches in an asymmetrical, leaning, elongated tear-drop form, the vase’s belly spans 7.5 inches across, but turned sideways, is only 3.5 inches deep. A rich transparent green dominates. But this is also cane work and the green contains embedded thin stripes of dark blue glass, repeating in an evenly spaced parallel pattern, which then twists diagonally through the piece. Being a transparent color vase, looking through it gives the effect that the dark blue stripes form a diagonal net. Finally, a void unexpectedly pierces through the belly of the piece, a half-inch diameter hole, adding interest and great optic distortions as the surface of the glass flows into the hole. This piece subtly shouts Michael’s mastery. No chips or scratches. Signed “Nine Iron Studios, Inc” – the name of Michael’s first glass company. He also signs as Michael Schunke, and creates pieces under the company name Vetro Vero formed with Josie Gluck. In my current downsizing, several larger pieces of glass collected over 30 years have to go. Michael is my favorite American glassblower, and I was fortunate to start collecting his work directly from him 20 years ago; his international reputation as an impeccable craftsman, designer and glassblower has only grown over the years.
