THE VASE HAS BEEN IN STORAGE FOR THE PAST 30 YEARS, PRIOR TO THAT TIME IT WAS ON DISPLAY IN A RELATIVES HOME. NO OTHER SERIOUS SCRATCHES OR IMPERFECTIONS, OTHER THAN NORMAL WARE AS CAN BE SEEN IN THE IMAGES. LITTLE TO NO OR LITTLE USE, AS I NEVER REMEMBER FLOWERS IN THE VASE. 1 (One) LALIQUE ONDINES VASE. The piece – titled’Ondines’ after the protagonist in the fairy tale’Undine’ written by German Friedrich de la Motte Fouqué – has a flared body with a distinctive Art Deco design introduced by Marc Lalique in 1952. The vase features satin-finished nude nymphs set amongst a series of lines resembling waves, making it appear that they are swimming or bathing in the water. The walls of the piece are thick and enhance the rippling visual effect created by the waves, imparting the piece with motion. “Ondines” was Designed by Marc Lalique, René Lalique’s Son, and Released in 1952. Lalique Ondines French Crystal Vase Product #1223800. A beautiful Art Nouveau Frosted and Clear Art Glass with nude female figures. This large, thick, and heavy vase features sensuous ladies and a fluid pattern. Designed by Marc Lalique in 1952. Hand crafted in Lalique’s workshops in the Alsace region of France. Measures approximately 9.5 inches tall, 7.5 inches across, tapering to a 4 inch base. Weighs almost 9 pounds. This vase is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, bruises, fleabites, scratches, or other damage that I can see. It is a beautiful vase. Guaranteed authentic and signed Lalique ® France. When René Lalique died in 1945, his son Marc took over the business. One of the first things Marc did was to change the formula from demi crystal with 12% lead oxide to full lead crystal with 24% lead oxide. This produced much heavier pieces, even from the same molds. It also yielded a much brighter and more transparent crystal that really sparkles. It has that classic Lalique look of satinized or frosted glass contrasting with sparkling and ultra transparent clear crystal. One of the great things about owning a beautiful Lalique collectible is that lead crystal doesn’t deteriorate over time. This one has been well cared for over the years. You’d be hard pressed to tell the difference between this one and a new one. We do not have the original box but will carefully pack (double box) and insure.
