LALIQUE CRYSTAL ORCHID VASE (Orchidee in French). This Lalique Orchidee Vase is sensual blend of frosted and smooth crystal complimented by delicately formed fluid lines. The vase has magnifcient opalescent orchids attached to each side of a half inch thick clear lead crystal bowl. The”Orchidee” pattern is one of Laliques classic and iconic designs. The graceful nature of crystal sets the stage to showcase the masterful craftsmanship and the intricate design. The vase was hand-crafted in Laliques workshops which are located in the Alsace region of France. The vase is signed “Lalique ® France” in handwritten script. There are no chips or cracks to be found. There is no hard water residue or cloudiness inside. There are no surface wear scratches on the bottom. They are an important part of the description. We do not have the origninal Lalique box but this vase will be carefully packed and fully insured. Measurements: The bowl itself is about 6 1/2 inches high by 7 5/8 inches in diameter. When René Lalique passed away in 1945 his son Marc took over the business. One of the first changes Marc made was to increase the amount of lead oxide in the batch from 12 to 24%. This changed the material from demi crystal to full lead crystal. It made the products much heavier, even if made in the same molds.
