1 (One) FOSTORIA DESIGNER COLLECTION Alexandrite OOAK Glass Vase. This is a Fostoria Glass Designer Collection OOAK vase in Alexandrite purple. The Alexandrite (neodymium) vase was created in 1977 in a limited run by James Carpenter. James Carpenter was furloughed from Steuben for a year starting in 1977 to create, the 28 pieces in 4 groups that were shown in the collection. The line proved very expensive to create. As a consequence fewer than 1200 pieces were created in total before the line was cut from production in 1978. A Wonderful Christmas, Wedding, Anniversary or Any Occasion Gift. Vtg MCM Designer Vase Hand Blown Glass Blue Gold Red Rim SIGNED Mystery Artist

This listing is for a vintage mid century modern MCM Designer Vase, made of blue Hand Blown Glass, with clear applied handles & gold disk decorations. It is SIGNED, by a Mystery Artist, the signature is not legible beyond a few of the letters. It looks like the signature was etched when the glass was very close to cool, or the tip was dull for scratching. The style reminds me of Blenko or another mid century maker, with a roman / greek urn esque influence. It has a pontil mark on the bottom as well, showing it is hand blown. It is in great vintage condition, with almost no wear, and no chips cracks or other damage anywhere oh the piece. Please see photos for exact details and measurements.
