THIS LISTING IS FOR… This exceptional, vintage, signed Zelezny Brod, Czech Sommerso, art glass vase designed by Miloslav Klinger. This vase has an acid etched signature on the underside. It is in excellent condition. It was made using a sommerso technique with the emerald green glass inside. Measures 10.5 inches tall and is quite heavy weighing over 3 lbs. La vetreria Venini nasce agli inizi del 900 precisamente nel 1921 quando con la collaborazione di Giacomo Cappellin (antiquario in Venezia) Paolo Venini (avvocato a Milano nato nel 1895) e Vittorio Zecchin (Pittore) nasce la Cappellin Venini & C. Le prime creazioni furono subito apprezzate ed esposte alla Biennale di Venezia e nelle esposizioni di Arte decorativa sia in Italia che in Francia. Nel 1925 la società si trasforma vedendo l’inserimento di Napoleone Martinuzzi trasformando la denominazione in VSM Venini & C. Dagli inizi degli anni 30 sino alla fine degli anni 50 la vetreria vedrà la fortuna produzione di oggetti innovativi e la merito delle molte collaborazioni con artisti di rilievo del 900 , Carlo Scarpa, Giò Ponti, Toni Zuccheri, Fulvio Bianconi, Ettore Sottsass, Mimmo Rotella, Tapio Wirkkala, Rudolpho Dordoni e Tobia Scarpa. Alla fine degli anni 50 (nel 1959) Paolo Venini muore lasciato in eredità la direzione artistica della società a suo genero, l’architetto Ludovico Diaz de Santiliana il quale seppe mantenere alto il livello dell’esecuzione e di creatività contribuendo con il suo lavoro di molti anni a portare nuovamente Venini alla Biennale di Venezia agli inizi degli anni 90.
