Steuben Art Glass bud vase, signed Aurene, opalescent blue, 6.5 inches. I will be available to answer questions. Ive had this vase since I bought it at an estate sale in the1980s. Its in very good vintage condition, with a few very minor signs of age, most notably a very small scratch (see photos). Its hard to tell, but I included photos from all angles. This vase apparently actually started life as a decanter and was cut down decades ago, before I got it. I include a photo with information about that type of decanter. I’ve been told pieces marked Aurene, like this one, are older than pieces that are marked Steuben Aurene. Steuben, founded in Corning in 1903 by legendary British glass maker Frederick Carder, began as colorful, design-intensive art glass that developed a devoted following. It had financial problems during World War I, when lead was unavailable for glass, and was bought out by Corning, which switched it over to primarily clear glass. The early colored pieces like this are relatively scarce and prized. Contact me for authorization before returning. Im confident its authentic.
