Signed Vintage Art Glass Hand Blown Vase by Peter Vanderlaan & Mary Beth Bliss. Gorgeous studio art hand blown limited edition signed glass vase by Peter Vanderlaan and Mary Beth Bliss. This vase is quite beautiful in a white matte finish with morning glory blue flowers and twisting green vines, all of them with an iridescent sheen. The vase is signed by hand, etched into the glass, “Van der Lann / Bliss” and it is numbered what appears to be “6/65″. Mary Beth Bliss and Peter VanderLaan are a husband and wife team having collaborated in the glass arts for well over thirty years. Sometimes the couple works on molten glass, sometimes working it cold. Currently Mary Beth is immersed in jewelry from glass while Peter has been pursuing combined hot and cold work on blown ware. The couple is constantly exploring the medium with a recurring love affair with color being at the center. VanderLaan makes all of the couple’s glasses from raw materials and teaches the chemistry of glass color. Their work is in the permanent collection at the Corning Museum of Glass. They live and work in Chocorua NH. Condition: Very good condition, minor scuffs and scratches to the base, please see photos. Measurements: 8 3/4 x 3 3/4 x 3 3/4 inches. Weight: 2 lb 9 oz.
