This is really a gorgeous Daum Pate de Verre French Crystal vase. The colors are pink and amber. There are six pink Hibiscus flowers around the perimeter at the top. Measures a little over 7 inches tall and about 5 inches in diameter at the top. This piece was hand made in Daums Nancy France workshops by skilled artisans. Pate de Verre items are created from a paste of different colored crushed glass particles. These are placed in a mold and then fired in a hot kiln for ten days. The glass particles fuse together forming an attractive Pate de Verre item. No two Daum Pate de Verre items have the same exact coloration because the particles are distributed differently in the molds. The ancient lost wax process is used which enables Daum to execute designs that would not be possible with traditional press molding.
